World Water Week 2023 focused on a worldwide conference that aims to develop solutions to the world’s greatest water-related challenges, with topics ranging from food security and health to agriculture, technology, biodiversity, and the climate crisis. One of our WET Committee members recently offered her garden to be part of the Rotary Club of Warrnambool Open Garden event. We were able to capitalise on that by organising a small stall selling plants, edibles, preserves, and gardening books. We raised the small but welcome amount of $520 to assist with our next water project.
On Friday 24 June 2022, WET Committee members were pleased to provide catering for the Annual Awards Exhibition of the Warrnambool and District Artists Society. This event has been a fundraiser for WET for some years, but has not been possible for the past couple of COVID years. It was great to be back promoting WET and raising funds for our latest project in Timor-Leste.
