Welcome to the website: Water East Timor
Water East Timor (WET) is a group of people predominately from South West Victoria, with an interest in water and sanitation system installation and management, health promotion and education.Small teams of local tradesmen with support from Warrnambool East Rotary Club and the local community have travelled to Timor Leste over the past thirteen years to teach East Timorese communities the necessary skills to construct, implement and maintain water systems in rural areas.Individuals and service groups work in partnership to donate money, time and expertise to fund the water systems.
Timor Leste is one of Australia's nearest neighbours and amongst the poorest nations in the world, yet problems still remain in health care, nutrition and sanitation. Many of the serious illnesses that confront the people of Timor Leste are due to unsafe or inadequate supplies of running water.

"MEET THE AUTHORS" – FUNDRAISER (FEB 2021)WET conducted a wonderful and successful fundraising event “MEET THE AUTHORS” on 21 February 2021 at Cafe Lava. Our guests at the fundraiser were International and Australian bestselling author Ms Heather Morris and Warrnambool’s very own Dr Bill Bateman, in conversation with former ABC Melbourne radio presenter Mr Derek Guille.
We were fortunate to have a full house at the event with such a star studded cast and raised $9000.00 in order for WET to undertake future water and sanitation projects in rural and remote villages in Timor Leste. Sincere and grateful thanks to our guests for their generosity of time and self, our audience were thrilled to have them with us.
